Computer Labs and Technology-enhanced Classrooms

SIU provides many computer labs across campus. Computer Learning Centers (CLCs) are managed by the Office of Information Technology and are open to all students, faculty, and staff. Other Departmental Labs may be open for students, faculty, and staff in a particular department.

The university also offers technology-enhanced classrooms. These classrooms are similar to labs, in that they have computers at each workstation. However, technology-enhanced classrooms are generally used for teaching, and to provide students studying particular subjects access to the advanced software needed for their academic work and class projects. Technology-enhanced classrooms usually have the teaching tools commonly used in classroom environments like a teaching podium, instructor computer, and projector. Faculty can reserve these venues to teach semester-long classes or to use for a single classroom/research session.
