IT RESEARCH COMPUTING

Research Creates Experiences

IT Research Computing is a team in SIU Information Technology who supports computationally intense research activities for the University community.  Our primary resource is the BigDog high performance computing cluster, a 34.7 TeraFLOPs supercomputer.  Our team was formed in July, 2013, and we are located in the Northwest Annex, Wing B, Third Floor.  We were formed to centrally assist University researchers with computationally intense projects related to grants and publications and to assist with student research under the supervision of faculty.  We do this with a staff of one plus three graduate assistants.
