Blackberry E-Mail Setup Documentation (Blackberry Device)

Main Content

To set up a Blackberry for e-mail access, the user must first be registered with a Blackberry account through the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS).  This is not something that we can do, as it is particular to the user's carrier and device.  To assist with this process, however, we can direct the user to the correct BIS website.  RIM has a webpage that directs customers to the appropriate site.  View the list of Blackberry-supported carriers .

The Blackberry can be configured by one of two possible methods for e-mail access.  The first is through the BIS website, and the second is through the Blackberry itself. This example will be demonstrated with setting up the e-mail account through the BlackBerry itself. For instructions on how set up the e-mail account through the BIS website click here

1. This is the BlackBerry "home screen" on a BlackBerry Curve 8320 on SprintNextel.  Each BlackBerry may appear differently, and the order of icons will likely be different on each device.  Choose the E-Mail Settings icon, described by an envelope with a gray gear and red arrow (pictured below)
