Change Your Password

Change your password before you do anything else!

1.) Using your browser, navigate to netid.siu.edu. Sign in using your Network ID (SIU85xxxxxxxx) and password.

2.) Click Change Password at the bottom of the Account Overview Page.

Note: this will change your password across all systems that require your Network ID to login such as SalukiNet, D2L, and Reznet.

Review Your Account Settings

Once you have changed your password, it is important to review your e-mail account settings and make sure that no changes have been made.

1.) Navigate to office.siu.edu

2.) Enter your SIU Network ID and password or @siu.edu e-mail address and password. 

3.) Click the cog wheel in the top right-hand corner of your Microsoft Office screen and select Options.

4.) On the left side of the page navigate to Mail -> Accounts -> Connected Accounts

5.) If you see any accounts that should not be connected to your @siu.edu account, remove them. Click the account that should not be listed and click the trash-can icon to delete them.

6.) On the left-hand side of the page, navigate to Mail -> Accounts -> Forwarding.

7.) Make sure there aren't any unauthorized e-mail addresses in the text box. If you do not have a forwarding e-mail address set up, it should look like the image below.

8.) On the left-hand side of the page, navigate to Mail -> Layout-> Email Signature

9.) Make sure that no signature has been added or that if you had a pre-existing signature, no alterations have been made to it.

10.) On the left-hand side of the page, navigate to Mail -> Automatic Processing-> Inbox and sweep rules

11.) Make sure that no Inbox or Sweep Rules have been added or that no changes have been made to any pre-exisiting rules that you previously created.
