Computer Labs and Technology-Enhanced Classrooms
Computer labs provide access to multiple computer workstations for "hands-on" general access, group collaboration, or classroom use. Technology-enhanced classrooms provide a single computer workstation (or laptop hook-up) at an instructor's podium connected to a video projector/TV, sound system, and possibly additional equipment such as a document camera. Computer labs which are also technology-enhanced classrooms sometimes include additional instructional tools such as classroom management software.
The Computer Learning Centers are the computer labs and technology-enhanced classrooms centrally managed by the Office of Information Technology. The CLCs are open to all SIU students, faculty, and staff, including graduates, emeriti, and retirees. Departmental computer labs and technology-enhanced classrooms frequently serve only those departments. Contact information for scheduling computer labs and classrooms varies by location.
