Argos also has the ability to generate historical analysis on various kinds of data, the most prevalent of which is enrollment. Argos uses what is called OLAP (On-Line Analytic Processing) cubes. OLAP cubes structure data hierarchically, but also allows users to rotate that data, changing the relationships to get more detailed insight into performance. This feature also provides advances capabilities for complex calculations, trend analysis and sophisticated data modeling. Users can selectively extract data, view it across multiple dimensions, and from multiple different perspectives, to gain greater insights, uncover relationships, and identify key patterns and trends.

The Argos OLAP cubes uses information from the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Cube. Data can be presented graphically through charting, or on the fly, or it can be exported to Excel to share with others.

This information is available with the Fall 2009 semester forward.

Note: Module 2 is NOT required for general Argos access to Reports. Access to use Argos EDW Cubes is reserved for Dean's, Associate Dean's, Chairs, and recruitment/retention coordinators. If you are not in one of these groups, this training is not required.
