Welcome to Research Computing
The Research Computing and Cyberinfrastructure (RCC) group within the Office of Information Technology supports computationally intense research activities for the University. Our primary resource is BigDawg, the University’s High Performance Computing Cluster (HPCC). This 34.7 TeraFLOP computing cluster offers computing speeds comparable to the fastest academic HPCC in the world—the only difference being our system is smaller than some of these mega-clusters. Unlike many larger institutions where HPCC time is limited, projects are vetted, and run-time is scheduled. SIU provides access to BigDawg free of charge, to all researchers and supervised students upon request.
