All work will be billed on a Time and Material basis. The labor rate is $59.77 per hour and the material cost will be calculated according to material used to complete the work requested.

When a Telecommunications Services Request (TSR) is received, the work will be scheduled on the next date available. The turnaround may vary depending on the number of orders in the queue at the time, but is typically ten working days. This interval may increase during particularly busy times of the year (e.g., June thru August). Installation rates do NOT include conduit or monthly recurring fees, if applicable. Associated work completed by PSO may be billed subsequently.

The charges and rates listed below apply to SIU Departments located on the Carbondale Campus. For those located off the SIU Campus or not affiliated with SIU please call for rates.

Special Phone Service Monthly charges

This service is for remote users that need a phone number local to the area of the US they serve.

The Microsoft Teams Domestic Calling Plan ($8.00 a month) for faculty license is covered by BTF or the $19.25 a month fee.

NOTE: When the need arises, such as elevators, other telephone equipment will be utilized. Please consult your Telecommunications Representative for the relevant changes for such equipment.

**There will be no charge phone number disconnections on the Analog Phone Service if the request is submitted when the department is working with a Telecommunications representative to convert the department to the Teams Phone Service.

***These charges are waived during the Campus Migration to Teams project.

Repair and Service Charges

If a service technician makes a premise visit on a repair call and the cause of the service problem is a result of any of the following, technician labor charges will apply, with a one hour minimum. Equipment charges will also apply in those instances when the damage is due to carelessness or misuse.

• Phone not being plugged into the jack.
• Phone plugged into the wrong jack.
• Power supply not plugged in.
• Damage to equipment caused by dropping or spilling liquids into the keypad.
• Other damage resulting from abuse of the equipment.
• Use of any telecommunications equipment which is not owned or approved for use through the University.

If you need to report a problem with your telephone or data line, please call 618/453-2484. Before calling, please make sure that all power supplies and telephone line cords are plugged in, and the ringer is turned on. This will eliminate any unnecessary visits.
