Computer Learning Center (CLC) Labs
CLC labs provide open-access computers and a variety of academic software. Additional departmental labs offer major-specific software and Morris Library features excellent open technology spaces ready to use for your solo or collaborative academic computing needs.

Degree Works
Degree Works is an online tool designed to help plan and track your courses so you can stay on track to graduate on time. 

LinkedIn Learning
LinkedIn Learning gives SIU students access to thousands of online courses covering technology, business, creative skills, and more. It also offers AI-powered coaches to help practice job interviews and provides a variety of certifications that can boost your resume and help you stand out in the job market.

MyCourses (D2L)

Emergency Alerts
Sign up to receive timely notifications whenever an emergency affects campus safety. Follow the instructions on SIU's Emergency Alerts page set up your alerts and stay informed.

Microsoft Office 365
All SIU students receive a Microsoft 365 account, giving access to cloud-based versions of popular Office apps like Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. It’s a convenient way to create, edit, and share files from anywhere, on any device.

Microsoft Teams
Collaboration tool included with SIU’s Office 365 that allows you to chat, video call, and share files with classmates and instructors. It's a convenient way to stay connected, work on group projects, and organize communication—all in one place.

SIU Email
After registering for classes, an SIU email address will be automatically created for you in the format firstname.lastname@siu.edu. This email is the official channel for all university communications, so be sure to check it regularly. You can access your inbox by visiting office.siu.edu in a web browser, using the Microsoft Outlook app on your computer, or adding your SIU email to your mobile device.

Viva Engage
Social networking tool within Microsoft 365 that helps students connect, share ideas, and build community on and off campus. It’s a great way to stay informed, join conversations, and collaborate with classmates and campus groups. SalukiTech frequently posts tech updates, outage alerts, and important announcements on Viva Engage. Eduroam: Eduroam is the secure Wi-Fi network available on campus and at thousands of institutions worldwide. Connect easily without needing separate network access—view instructions to get started.

VPN: Under certain circumstances, SIU offers students access to a Virtual Private Network (VPN), allowing secure remote connection to the university’s network for off-campus work and resources.

SalukiTech Printing Services
SalukiTech Printing offers easy access to printers for students, faculty, and staff in convenient locations on campus. You can send documents to the print queue from campus computers or wirelessly from your personal devices. Payments are made using Debit Dawg funds, which are linked to your SIU Carbondale ID card.

LastPass is a secure password manager available to students at no cost. It helps store, manage, and autofill passwords for all your accounts in one encrypted vault—so you don’t have to remember them all. LinkedIn Learning
Students have free access to LinkedIn Learning, an online platform offering over 22,000 expert-led courses across a wide range of topics. Use it to deepen your understanding of classroom concepts, explore new areas of interest, or build skills that employers value. Earn completion certificates to showcase on your resume or LinkedIn profile—and take advantage of the built-in AI interview coach to prepare with confidence for job applications and interviews.

Microsoft Authenticator
As a student at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, you have access to a variety of services and resources that cyber-criminals also want. To keep the campus community digitally secure, SIUC adopted Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Microsoft Authenticator is a mobile app that we use as part of the MFA process to quickly and safely verify your identity when accessing SIU systems.
