BigDawg Supercomputer

Campus Wide Printing Services (CWPS)
CWPS printers are available to faculty, staff, and students across campus. View location and pricing information.
Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE)
The Center for Teaching Excellence provides support for D2L and SIUonline—the University’s learning management system. Contact CTE at (618) 453-2258 or by email at teach@siu.edu.
Computer Learning Center (CLC) labs
CLC labs offer open-access computers and class-specific software to faculty, staff and students across campus. Other departmental computer labs offer the same to department faculty, staff or majors. Morris Library has excellent open access technology spaces—just find a station and log-in.
D2L (aka MyCourses)
Use D2L (MyCourses) to access course content, your assignment dropbox, quizzes, discussions, chat, and other useful features. Contact CTE at (618) 453-2258 or by email at teach@siu.edu for support. D2L help is also available online.
DawgTag Number
This is your faculty/staff identification number within campus records. Find your DawgTag number at DawgTag lookup.
Degree Works
Degree Works is SIU’s online tool to help students plan and manage courses to graduate on time. Start planning/managing your college career path.
Eduroam
The on campus Wi-Fi network. Access the eduroam network at thousands of institutions across the country and around the world without having to ask for network access. View instructions on how to get connected.
Email Address
Your email address is automatically assigned to you after your employee contract is processed. The email address is formatted this way: lastname.firstname@siu.edu. Check your e-mail address on NetID. Some features in SIU technology systems—D2L and SalukiNet—require an email address to function.
Email Access
Access your email at office.siu.edu. If you can’t access your email or need help, contact SalukiTech at (618) 453-5155 or by email at salukitech@siu.edu. You can also submit a help ticket using the SalukiTech Portal. If you think your account has been compromised the safest option is to call SalukiTech.

Internet Browsers
Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge browsers are the most commonly used browsers on campus and are supported by SalukiTech.
JAMF
JAMF allows the Office of Information technology to manage updates and patches on Mac devices across campus. View the Jamf informational page to learn more.

Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams (Teams) is the hub for team collaboration in Office 365 that integrates the people, content, and tools your team needs to be more engaged and effective. Learn how to get the most out of Teams by viewing these resources.
MyCourses

Network ID
Your network ID number, combined with your password, allows you access to technology across campus. Your network ID is different than your DawgTag number—it has an SIU prefix: SIU85xxxxxxx.
Office 365
All faculty, staff and students are provided access to an Office 365 account. Office 365 includes cloud-based versions of Microsoft Office.

Start at the Office of Information Technology for information and questions related to technology service and support.
OneDrive
Faculty, staff, and students have OneDrive, a component of Office 365. OneDrive provides 1 TB of secure cloud storage for files. Storing files in OneDrive allows you to access files anywhere, and to share files with others. For more information on accessing and using OneDrive view our instructional material. Microsoft Office is a secure way to communicate with others, share files, and schedule meetings or appointments. Stay organized with your email, calendar, contacts, tasks, and more—all in one location. Learn how to get the most out of Outlook by viewing these resources.
Password Management
Office of Information Technology recommends that SIU faculty and staff change their SIU password every 365 days. Access the netid website to manage your account. Contact SalukiTech at (618) 453-5155 or salukitech@siu.edu for help changing your password.
People Finder
Use People Finder to get email contact information for other students. People Finder also provides campus phone numbers and locations for faculty, staff, and University departments.
Recycle Technology Waste
The Sustainability Office leads technology recycling efforts. Contact the Sustainability Office at (618) 453-2846 or by email at sustainability@siu.edu. You can also contact SalukiTech at (618) 453-5155 or by email at salukitech@siu.edu.
Report Service Outages
Report technology systems that are not working (including network, Wi-Fi, printers, servers, and phone) to SalukiTech at (618) 453-5155 or salukitech@siu.edu. You can also submit a help ticket through the SalukiTech Portal.
Recycle Technology Waste
Paper, toner cartridges, and batteries can be placed in recycling bins across campus. Contact the Sustainability Office at (618) 453-2846 or by email at sustainability@siu.edu.

Research Computing and Cyberinfrastructure

SalukiNet
SalukiNet provides access to all of your student information such as admissions, classes, grades, bursar transactions, and financial aid in one convenient place.

Scams
To help you avoid scams, the Security Team posts a list of current scams. You can also follow our Security feed on Twitter @SIU_InfoSec to receive tweets about known cyber security issues.
SIU Exchange Email
Students can access their SIU Exchange email account through webmail or through Outlook. OIT recommends using the official Outlook app on iOS, Android, and desktop machines.
SIU Guest Wi-Fi
Visitors should access SIU-Guest Wi-Fi for Internet access. You can request the guest password from SalukiTech.
Secure Cloud Storage
Take advantage of OneDrive, our free cloud storage system. Simply open Office365, enter your Dawg Tag ID and password, and you’re in. You can easily sync and access files anywhere, anytime, from any device – desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Get synced with OneDrive today!
SIU-OntheHub
As a faculty or staff member you can purchase fully-licensed software, at a discounted price, through SIU— OnTheHub.

Virtual Private Network
Under special circumstances, SIU provides faculty, staff, and students with access to the Virtual Private Network (VPN). This gives you remote access to the network so you can work off campus.
Wi-Fi Access
SIU has wireless access across campus for faculty, staff, students, and guests.
